THE Kisutu Resident Magistrates’ Court adjourned a sedition case against the Democratic Party (DP) National Chairman, Reverend Christopher Mtikila.
The case that was adjourned to September 6 this year because the presiding Principal Resident Magistrate, Ivlin Mugeta was not present. In the case, Mtikila is charged with two counts of unlawful distribution and unlawful possession of a seditious publication titled, "Kikwete Kuangamiza Kabisa Ukristo," literally meaning Kikwete to completely destroy Christianity.
The court alleged that between January 2009 and April 2010, Rev Mtikila wrote and published the document and circulated the copies across the country.
In the document, Rev Mtikila among other things claims that the current government aims at increasing the number of Muslims in communities by marrying Christians.
