Dar es Salaam: Police hold woman over murder

The Police Force in Kinondoni is holding a Tanzanian woman who resides in New York, for allegedly killing her house help cum security guard.

According to the Kinondoni Special Police Region Commander, Mr Charles Kenyela, she beat up and later burnt Mr Isack Banda over loss of property worth more than $50,000 (about Sh80 Million).

“They beat and burnt him, but thank God he managed to escape and his relatives took him to Mwananyamala Hospital. But he was referred to the Muhimbili National Hospital because he was badly burnt,” said MrKenyela.

Commander Kenyela said the deceased was employed as a house help cum security guard at the lady’s house situated in the city’s Kinondoni area.

“On the fateful day, she came to report the loss. It was good that we had already received news about the death (basing on the fact that a case file was opened at the police station). As a result we arrested her on the spot and we will take her to court very soon,” noted Mr Kenyela.

He said the suspect collaborated with unknown people in the incident.
