Dar es Salaam: Police seize 3 guns, 33 rounds of ammunition

Police in the city have recovered three guns and 33 bullets from different locations. The weapons were reportedly to be used by suspected bandits in commiting robberies.
The firearms were recovered in a special round up carried out by police after receiving intelligence information from citizens, according to Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Commander, Mr Suleiman Kova.
He said that one sub machine gun (SMG) was recovered at Kimbangulile area in Temeke Municipality and two pistols were seized at Mabibo area in Kinondoni Municipality and Kipunguni in Ilala Municipality. Police also recovered copper, worth $167,000 (about Sh267.2million).
The law enforcers used the Global Position System (GPS) to recover 650 pieces of copper loaded in two bundles that was being transported to Swaziland from Congo via Dar es Salaam port.
