KENYA: Appellate judges pass vetting test
Nation Reporter
Three Court of Appeal judges have been declared suitable to serve in the Judiciary.
The Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board ruled Friday that Justice David Maraga, Lady Justice Martha Koome and Lady Justice Kalpana Rawal should continue serving in the Appellate Court.
At the same time, Supreme Court judge Mohammed Ibrahim will be vetted afresh after the Board set aside its earlier decision to send him home.
Also to be interviewed afresh is Lady Justice Roselyn Nambuye who had appealed the Board's decision to declare her unsuitable to sit in the Court of Appeal.
However, the Vetting Board upheld its verdict that Lady Justice Jeanne Gacheche is unsuitable to serve in the Judiciary.
Lady Justice Joyce Khaminwa was found unsuitable on medical grounds.
