Family members in court for murder
BY AISIA RWEYEMAMU
Four family members were yesterday brought before the Kisutu Resident Magistrate’s court in Dar es Salaam, charged with murder.
The prosecution led by prosecutor Esther Kyara told the court that the accused committed the offence on August 20 at Kunduchi Mtongani in Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam, naming the family members as Elias Ng’ambu (64) Ocran Ngambu (36) Peda Ng’ambu (37) and Malima Bora (17).
Before Resident Magistrate Devotha Kisoka, prosecutor Kyara alleged that on that day the accused murdered Florian Patrick Mtigama.
The accused were not allowed to enter a plea because the Kisutu Resident Magistrate’s court does not have jurisdiction to try murder cases, and entering pleas is reserved for the High Court.
As the prosecution informed the court that investigations into the case were still continuing, the magistrate adjourned the case to October 18 when it comes up for the first mention.
In another development, two residents of Bunda district were yesterday brought to Bunda District court in Mara region charged with murder of one person whose name was not given in court.
The accused are Juma Barnaba alias Mgoye (40), a resident of Rigicha in Serengeti district and Garowa Ginanani (32), a resident of Kyandege in Bunda District.
