KENYA: Court bars tribunal to probe JSC from sitting

The High Court has barred the swearing in of the tribunal appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta to investigate six members of the Judicial Service Commission.

Judge George Odunga said the tribunal cannot sit and no investigations should begin.

The judge also suspended the gazette notice through which commissioners Ahmednassir Abdullahi, Rev Dr Samuel Kobia, Justice Mohammed Warsame, Prof Christine Mango, Chief Magistrate Emily Ominde and Ms Florence Mwangangi were suspended and a tribunal appointed to investigate their conduct.
